Top Five New Products

Yes it’s another one of Kris’s favourite product lists. You’ll be bored of them fairly soon I’m sure. They’re not all helmets though, which must be good news!

5. Held Helmet Buddy:

Okay, it’s a £5.99 accessory and isn’t very exciting. If anything, it looks like a confused D ring. However, not all the best products are super shiny with laser beams on. It’s the job this little item does that’s so useful. It’s a D ring to fix your helmet to your bike when you’re away from it, and to stop someone fancying your Arai lid and trying to pinch it; it’s got a combination lock on it. Pretty cool eh? and only £5.99 for peace of mind. Can’t go wrong.

4. JTS Men’s Distressed Kevlar Jeans:

Yes! It’s a shameless plug! Our distressed Kevlar Jeans arrived early last month and soon flew out of the door with all our back orders. They are at the end of the day only Kevlar Jeans. Supplied with knee pads, room for hip pads and Kevlar all round the seat and upper leg area. It’s an aesthetic thing, but also a comfort thing. We’ve got them in all 5 of our leg length options and more protection options than you can shake a big stick at. Starting price for all this? £89.99. Say no more!

3. Held Angelina Ladies Leather Jacket:

Now normally, an all white leather jacket looks a bit so-so and isn’t really white or several other complaints. This is a white leather jacket. 100% white. They could use these to demonstrate what white is. Some of the Held gear can be accused of being a little bit short but not this one. This jacket is a perfect example as to why Held have been going strong for 66 years, the quality is still there. Okay gents, it’s a ladies jacket. Girls ride bikes too! Ask the girls up at Bike Gear Ashton!! It’s a little on the pricy side at £269.99 but it’s more than worth that!!

2. Shark S900C (Various Designs):

Yes, there’s a helmet in here. Yes, it’s a Shark. There’s a good reason for this. Safety, Safety, Safety! When a helmet’s padding beds down after a bit of use it can either become so comfortable or so dangerous. If the pads bed down and don’t sit on your head properly, you’re at serious risk if you were to fall off or even just at speed. That lid could turn and impair vision, it could come off all together if you were to fall off, there’s no telling. The S900C has a pump built in to firm the pads up for comfort and safety. One day, all helmets will have this trust me. People laughed when I backed the sun visor, now they can’t live without it. This is another one of those features. Starting from £199.99 for a graphic helmet, small price to pay for that level of innovation and safety.

1. D30 protection:

Protection pads over a helmet? No, I’ve not gone mad. The Penguins are slowly stealing my sanity but this stuff is incredible. When you put a jacket, or trousers, on with this stuff in; you genuinely wouldn’t know it was there unless we told you. Outside of the pockets, its like silly putty. It’s amazing how much you can muck about with it and watch it go back to being a knee pad. The most impressive thing is the way it reacts to an impact. Even just thwacking a knee pad on the counter in the shop it tenses up and disperses the shock of the impact. It’s amazing basically. It comes as standard in all Furygan & Held gear and is an optional extra for the JTS stock. Specific protectors are available: Back, Hip, Knee & Shoulder pads. The Prices vary on what job the protector does, but it’s between £11 and £44.

Everything on this list is available on our website www.jtsbikerclothing.com

JTS Late April News

It’s been a while since we’ve updated you and there’s quite a bit to tell!

All the new styles in the catalogue have arrived, including the long awaited Distressed Kevlar Jeans. There are some slight adjustments to a few styles which can be viewed on the website.

We’ve also got stacks on Held Biker Fashion gear. One of the longest running Motorcycle Clothing companies at an impressive 66 Years. If we haven’t got something you’d like to order in stock we can order it for you. Delivery to ourselves normally takes a week or so.

The early start to the season with that spell of amazing weather in the last week of February has left a few of our stocks a little low but we’re getting new stock all the time, drop us a call if you want to clarify availability on 01530812121.

New helmets have arrived too, including my favourite for the year; the Shark S700S Stipple and a pretty awesome Scott Redding Replica S700S. Scott is a Moto2 rider with Marc VDS Racing and his lid is a pretty special one. Not bad for a lad who’s only just turned 18! If you want one you can get it here

As we build up to the expected good weather, and inevitable nationwide hosepipe ban, make sure you’ve got everything you need. A bike gets stolen on average every 14 minutes in the UK. Chains, Locks and Alarms are essential kit!

Our Top Ten Helmets for 2012

We’re pretty excited at JTS at the minute (well I am..), all our new Helmet range is slowly becoming available so I thought I’d give you my opinion on the top ten we’ve got arriving soon or already available.

10.Caberg Freedom : A lovely little open face kicks off the list, ideal for the likes of the vespa riders or even for the hardened Cruiser rider. Looks like this one could be a popular little helmet this year, especially for only 69.99!

9. HJC Ben Spies Replica : Not a new product, but after Ben’s maiden win last season it’s only fitting his replica HJC makes it onto our list. Awesome graphics and HJC build quality make this a choice helmet for any GP fans or anyone who just wants to own one of the best looking helmets around. £399.99 may sound a lot, but you’d spend that on a boring blank Arai. No-one wants a boring lid do they?

8.Caberg V2X Carbon : First came Carbon Fibre car parts, then came carbon fibre iPhone covers and just about everything else had to have a Carbon Fibre version. Well, Caberg have proven Motorcycle Helmets are no exception. The V2X is a beautifully crafted piece of safety engineering. Obviously, you can have it any colour you like as long as it’s black… but the finish is superb, and the inclusion of the sun visor makes this a top lid in our opinion. £239.95 is all it’ll cost you for this beauty, and personally it has to be worth every penny.

7.Shark S600 Moonlight : Any visitors to the shop, or anyone who knows me will be well aware I adore Shark Helmets. Granted, I can normally be found salivating over a De Puniet Race R Pro (Only £549.99!) but these entry level S600’s have more than caught my attention too. The moonlight in particular is an exceptional example of Shark’s attention to detail with their artwork. A stunning, modern swirl style pattern makes up this particular helmets’ decoration. Available in functional Hi vis, Classic Black and the party piece White makes this helmet an accessible, affordable lid. £109.99

6.Caberg Hyper X : I am happy to admit, when this helmet first came in, I didn’t understand it as a concept at all. The Justissimo started the Caberg trend of removeable chin bars, but it was a labourious process. The Hyper X has two buttons inside the helmet making the chin bar removal process infinitely easier. Though still a bit of a niche gadget, the helmet itself resembles the Jet Sintesi only with an even bigger field of vision and what appears to be a markedly thicker visor. It’s like looking at things in full panorama in this lid, and with prices starting from £139.95 it’s cheaper than the Jet Sintesi too!

5. Shark Evoline 3 : This helmet isn’t actually available anywhere yet, it’s borderline a secret! Shark have perfected the Evoline concept with the Evoline 3, rather than having to open the visor manually to lift the chin bar over the back the new Auto Up feature makes it one motion to raise the chin bar. A little bit of weight off it just perfects this new lid. The only downside is the price is expected to be on the less appealling side of £300, but it’s one to look out for!

4. Box BX-1 Web : Another BX-1 for the collection. The Web is an ideal design for those put off by the busy graphics on some of the others in the BX-1 range. Simple, White graphics adorn each of the three colour options and the BX-1 still holds its 4 Star Sharp Rating. For £49.99, these remain some of the best helmets we stock!

3. Caberg Duke : Another helmet we’re due any minute, the Duke is set to replace the outstanding Konda after the Konda was noted to be a little noisy but the sensible price wouldn’t stop anyone picking up the budget flip front. The Duke is set to be a little more money but for much more helmet. A new ergonomic shell design improves the look and aerodynamics of the helmet and a thicker shell overall should combat the Konda’s noisy habit! Starting from around £150 does put the Duke in the firing line of the new HJC flip front and puts it into a well stocked price bracket in our store, still I loved the Konda so it has to be on the list really.

2. Shark S600 QR Code : I know I’ve already bored you to tears with the S600, but everyone loves a bit of a gadget or a gimmick and the QR code’s party piece is possibly the most unique of the year. The design on the front and rear of the helmet are genuine QR barcodes, and when scanned with a smart phone (by a smart person) will lead your browser directly to the Shark website. Maybe not worthy of the number two spot just for that but it justifies me purchasing an iPhone and a seemingly useless scanning app! I’m happy with that! £109.99

1. Shark S700 S Stipple : Who’d have thought my favourite new helmet would be a Shark eh? Have I mentioned I’m a bit of a fan..? The whole S700 S range is outstanding, £159.99 for a range of helmets that have inherited everything from the S900 range? The DNA is good, very good. The S700 S is quite the tribute to Shark’s past and present really, taking it’s vent system from the new S900 C range and the exceptional RSI helmet. The inclusion of a sun visor as standard really finishes off these awesome lids. The Stipple in particular is probably the diamond amongst the group, with amazing artwork. Though even the highly anticipated Signal is a stunning lid. £159.99 is nothing to pay for this level of helmet.
